The rating scale
One scale runs through the whole organization. Every skill rating, goal target, and development chart is expressed on it.
Where it is set
Organization, Settings tab, Evaluation Scale. The default is 1 to 10. The lowest value can be 1 or more, the highest up to 1000, and the lowest must be below the highest. Owners and coaches with full access can change it.
Open the Settings tab(opens in new tab)What it applies to
| Where | How the scale is used |
|---|---|
| Evaluations | Every skill rating is given on this scale, and a new rating starts at the lowest value |
| Evaluation criteria | Level ranges must sit inside the scale, and together they cover it |
| Goals | Skill and skill-set targets are values on this scale |
| Development view | The chart's vertical axis is the scale |
| Assessment templates | A new rating field starts from the scale, but you can set its own range |
Changing it later
You can change the scale at any time, but it is not only a display setting: existing ratings and criteria are moved into the new range. Narrowing the scale loses detail permanently. Going from 1 to 10 down to 1 to 5 pulls every rating above 5 down to 5, and widening it again does not bring the old values back.
Before you change it
Pick the scale you want early, while there is little to lose, and treat later changes as a one-way door. Striveon does not ask you to confirm this.
