The Problem That Wouldn't Go Away
Jyväskylä, Finland, 2023. During a casual conversation with my padel coach, the same frustrations came up: Excel spreadsheets for schedules, WhatsApp groups for coordination, scattered notes about player progress. Conversations with coaches across different sports revealed the same pattern. Existing solutions were either too complex, focused on the wrong problems, or designed by people who had never actually coached.
By 2024, it became clear this was a problem worth solving. With a background in Information Systems Science and years of web development, combined with firsthand experience as both athlete and coach, I started building what would become Striveon: a platform designed around how athlete development actually works in practice.
Built from Real Experience
As an athlete: 10 years of competitive tennis and 3 years of coached padel showed me what systematic development looks like, and what happens when structure is missing.
As a coach: During part-time coaching, the hardest part was always the preparation: hunting through scattered notes and files, trying to build coherent training plans from fragmented information.
As a developer: Years of building web applications taught me that the best software solves real problems simply. Striveon combines this technical foundation with genuine understanding of what coaches actually need.
