Build your first season in 15 minutes
Follow this once and you will have a working season: a skill framework, an athlete, a group whose trainings fill the calendar, and a first evaluation with a goal that moves on its own.
Worth knowing
Striveon changes some words to match your sport. If you coach a team sport, the app says players and teams where this manual says athletes and training groups. That applies to the tab and menu names this manual points you at, too.
- Define one skill set
Open the Skill Sets page, add a skill set for something you coach, and give it three or four skills. This is the framework everything else measures against, so start it small.
Open the Skill Sets page(opens in new tab) - Add one athlete
Open Athletes and add a real athlete by name. One is enough to get through this.
Open Athletes(opens in new tab) - Create a group with its weekly time
In Training Management, create a training group, add one weekly training time, and add your athlete to it. When you save, the calendar fills with that training for the whole season. This is the first thing Striveon does for you.
Open the Training groups tab(opens in new tab) - Evaluate the athlete
Open the athlete's Evaluations tab, start an evaluation, and rate each skill as you see them today. This is the reading everything else builds on, so record what is true now, not what you hope for.
Open Athletes(opens in new tab) - Set one goal
On the Goals tab, set a skill goal for something you just rated. From now on, whenever you rate that skill differently, the goal moves with it.
Open the Goals tab(opens in new tab)
What you have now
A season's calendar from one weekly time. An athlete with a recorded rating, and a goal that moves whenever you record the next evaluation. From here, every evaluation you add deepens the picture: the development view starts showing the trend once you have recorded a second evaluation.
Where to go next
Plan the season's focus with a season plan, or start building your drill library so your sessions come together from ready pieces. When another coach joins, invite them and they see the same athletes and plans.
