Consistency in Evaluating Athletes Across Different Skill Areas

Imagine you're coaching a tennis academy where athletes train with multiple coaches. One coach focuses on tactical skills, another on physical conditioning, and yet another on mental resilience.

Without a shared evaluation framework, each coach could interpret progress differently, leading to confusion and inconsistent feedback. With Evaluation Criteria, you set a clear, standardized scale that every coach uses. For example, agility under Physical Conditioning is rated consistently across all coaches, giving athletes clear targets for improvement and helping them understand where they stand.

How to Set Up and Customize Evaluation Criteria

Follow these steps to create evaluation criteria, customize the scale, and ensure consistent athlete assessments.

1.

Access the Evaluation Criteria

Go to the Skill Sets page on the Striveon Coaching Platform to start creating your evaluation framework. The default scale is 1 to 10, but you can customize it to fit your needs.

2.

Create Generic or Skill Set-Specific Criteria

Define criteria that apply to all Skill Sets or create specific criteria for individual Skill Sets.

3.

Add Levels, Descriptions, and Criteria

Set the rating range (e.g., Level 3). Provide a concise description for each level and clearly define what criteria athletes must meet to achieve it (e.g., 'Level 3: Can't perform the skill under moderate pressure' or 'Level 5: Consistently executes with precision').

4.

Monitor and Adjust

Review and update your criteria regularly to keep them aligned with your athletes’ development goals.
